Abstract: An eccentric house in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, looks like it belongs somewhere else.

Part of an enclave of 1920s bungalows, this strange house looks more like a home in a land of palm trees and convertibles.

In this community of about 200 homes, each street is named after a small town in California.

The house on Berkeley Avenue is listed at $345,000.

Since the home originally came on the market in October 2022 for $374,900, the price has dropped a few times.

It reached $349,000 in December 2022, reaching its current price in the new year.

The history of the home dates back to 1926 when architect Gustav Weber brought his distinctive style to the East Coast.

Weber referred to the three-bedroom, one-bathroom residence as the Airplane House in his architectural renderings.

Others called it the Gingerbread House. Whatever you call it, it's definitely unusual.

According to Realtor.com®, Blumenthal is handling the sale of this home for the second time, having sold it to the current owners in 2007 for $215,000.

A highlight of the 1,050-square-foot home is a fireplace made with handcrafted tiles typical of the area.

Blumenthal notes that the home's kitchen and bathrooms may need updating. Also, the large basement is unfinished.

Blumenthal believes the house is small and perfect for someone who knows the area and wants a smaller space.
